Vynnette Frederick is a Barrister-at-Law and Solicitor by profession, who is recognized for her varied legal practice where she has become the go-to practitioner for Adoption Law and consults with US clients who wish to pursue property development in Saint Vincent.
A former Opposition appointed Senator in the parliament of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Vynnette has participated in select committees on Human Trafficking and led opposition debates on developments in shipping, education and social issues; especially those affecting women and children nationally.
Education is one of her long-standing passions and she has overseen the development of an online resource for students preparing for local examinations called Vincyclassroom. She believes in the use of social media to target the youth and promote positive youth development.
Described as a renaissance woman, Vynnette gained recognition for her poetry, public speaking and music during her teen years. Over the past thirty years, her experience as a Member of Parliament and her years in politics and Public Relations has provided her with insight into the challenges facing marginalized people from depressed communities and she has used her platform to highlight the challenges and to assist young people including young mothers to access education and life skills training. She has used her skills as a poet, singer, orator, creative and regionally sought-after motivational speaker to encourage young people to dream big.
Her other major interests include youth work and sport development, specifically track and field and football. Her life has been a testament to the belief that you can do anything you put your mind to. Vynnette is a graduate of the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill and the Hugh Wooding Law School. She believes her greatest accomplishment is as mother to Aaliyah, an 18-year-old athlete whom she has been blessed to call daughter from the age of six. Vynnette splits her time juggling her practice and her passions between Florida and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
